The closest airport to Boracay is the Catican Airport or officially named Godofredo P. Ramos Airport. It’s located in the town of Malay, Aklan, and is just a short boat ride away from the white beach of Boracay. The next nearest airport is the Kalibo international airport to Boracay. It is a 2 hour bus ride from Caticlan Jetty port.

Flying into Boracay Airport

We recommend flying into Caticlan it is by far the most convenient. The views as you descend are breathtaking, with the azure waters of the Sibuyan Sea and the lush greenery of Panay Island. The Ramos airport is classified as a Class 2 Principal airport by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, a body of the Department of Transportation that is responsible for the operations of not only this airport but also of all other nearby airports.

From the airports terminal, it’s a quick 15-minute tricycle ride to the nearby Caticlan Jetty Port, followed by a 15-minute boat ride to Boracay Island.

Flying into Kalibo International Airport

Kalibo International Airport offers offers flights that are more budget friendly plane tickets. It’s located at Aklan West Road which is about 2-2.5 hours away by bus or a van transfer to the Caticlan Jetty Port. Also, it is a viable option for those tourists who don’t mind a longer transfer time from Kalibo Airport to Boracay. While the journey is longer, Kalibo International Airport is larger. Moreover, flights to Kalibo Airport can be cheaper and the airport serves both domestic and international flights. Furthermore serves a larger number of international destinations.

Boracay Airport Transport

Navigating the transport scene from both Boracay and Kalibo airports can feel like a wild rollercoaster ride!
